Webinairs. conferences etc. (more than 75 in last 30 yrs ) to discuss various social issues vis-à-vis role of professional social workers in managing the issues and also to study the status of social work education in the State and ways of upgrading the quality of education.
• An ENABLER which has succeeded in resolving crucial issues related with Social Work Colleges and staff like Grant in aid. Implementation of Pay Commission. social security measures like Retirement Benefits. Medical reimbursement etc.
• An efficient PLANNER & IMPLEMENTOR of various relevant events and programmes in the state.
• A COLLABORATOR which has collaborated with GOs. NGOs. INGOs. State Universities. and other professional bodies like ASSWI. NAPSWI. BATSW. INPSWA. etc.
• A democratic ADVOCATE and effective LOBBYIST which has effected the policies and provisions of the Govt. regarding staff of Social Work Colleges. implementation of NEP for Social Work Education. job Avenues before Social Work Students etc.
• A novel STRATEGIST. MASWE is well known for resorting to novel. peaceful and democratic means of advocacy and lobbying like hunger strike unto death. chain hunger strike. voluntary tonsuring by its male members. women members sending rakhis to concerned govt. officials. sending money orders of Re 1 post cards and SMS to the Secretary. Social Justice Department by members & students. conducting Appeal & Study March in the Assembly constituency of the Chief Minister and the Minister of Social Justice.
• A FUND RAISER which raises funds from its members to help victims of Natural Calamities and disasters in the State.
• A CONFIDANTE where aggrieved staff and students uninhibitedly come to discuss their problems with the confidence that all efforts will be made to resolve them.
• PUBLISHER of Maharashtra Journal of Social Work. MASWE News Bulletin. Directory of Social Work Colleges in the State of Maharashtra.
UMBRELLA
An UMBRELLA which brought social work educators. students. practitioners. administrative staff etc. under one roof.
PLATFORM
A PLATFORM where all its stakeholders can discuss issues related with social work education. practice and society.
CO-ORDINATOR
A CO-ORDINATOR which convenes meetings and focussed group discussions with the sole purpose of discussing and finding solutions to different issues and challenges before social work colleges. their staff and their students as well as discussing ways to upgrade Social Work Education in the state.
